Homemade Taco Sauce

Homemade taco sauce is so much better then over processed store brands. This Taco Sauce can be made from simple pantry ingredients that you already have. Also can use garden fresh tomatoes and chilies that really adding bright fresh flavors to taco sauce. Homemade taco sauce great on tacos, but wonderful also on eggs dishes and salads.

Taco sauce needs the right tomato sauce base. For the best results homemade tomato chilies sauce provided outstanding flavors. This sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes added with Hatch Chilies.

Basic Taco Sauce Recipe:
  1. Chop onions , sweet bell peppers medium dice and mince the garlic.
  2. Measure all dry spices, they can be put into one bowl. Then measure all other ingredients into individual containers.
  3. Sauté the onions, sweet bell peppers and garlic with olive oil in a sauce pan until translucent. Next add diced tomatoes with chilies to onions and garlic. Bring this mixture to slow boil.
  4. Continuing on add chili power or if like hotter dry chilies, oregano, cayenne pepper, kosher salt, turbinado sugar, and black pepper to the sauce. Whisk in chili vinegar or white vinegar and fresh lime juice into the taco sauce.
  5. Pour the taco sauce into blender and process until smooth. Then pour smooth taco sauce back into sauce bring brace to slow boil.
  6. Slow boiling the taco sauce until thickened, do spread test on plate if tomato liquid weeps from sauce continue cooking.
  7. Taste the taco sauce, adjust flavor to your liking. Use salt to bring out flavors, balance acidness with sugar and vinegar. To boost heat add more cayenne pepper or hot chilies like Carolina Reapers or Ghost Peppers for flaming hot taco sauce. Be careful with hot chilies to ware gloves when mincing.
  8. After adjusting flavors to your liking pour into sterilize tbottles. Label and date bottle of sauce.
Simplify Taco Sauce Recipe
  1. Add dice tomatoes with chilies, Mexican Seasoning, vinegar, turbinado sugar, kosher salt, and cayenne pepper to taste into blender. Process until smooth, then pour into saucepan and bring to slow boil.
  2. Continue slow boiling until thickened. Do spread test onto plate, if liquid weeps out sauce continue cooking until now weepinp.
  3. Taste taco sauce adjust seasoning with salt, sugar, Mexican Seasoning and cayenne pepper until desired flavor profile.
  4. Pour taco sauce into sterilized bottles. Lab.e and date each bottle. Enjoy.
