Air Fryer Salmon

pinit

Air Fryer Salmon is a quick and easy way to prepare baked or broiled salmon filets. No more heating up large oven to bake two salmon filets. It produces a wonderful caramelized sear filled with great flavors. The recipe only takes about 5 minutes to prepare and can be cooked in the Air Fryer for no longer then 10 minutes. My favorite topping is Turbinado sugar (Sugar In the Raw), a coarse raw sugar that is unrefined, has the best sweet and complex flavors. I also like my special Citrus Blast Pepper Salt to give the salmon filets an extra kick. Or sprinkle any of your favorite seasonings along with some lemon juice and you will have a happy tummy and healthy one too. Enjoy!

For something extra crunchy to go with Salmon try this Air Fryed Squash Fries

they are so good, super crunchy on outside and sweet and creamy on inside. Yum!

Instructions
  1. Cut the salmon filets into 4 oz portions if Fishmonger has not portioned filets.
  2. Sprinkle each salmon filet with citrus blast pepper salt, turbinato sugar.
  3. Pre heat Air Fryer to 400°F for 4 minutes.
  4. Coat each seasoned salmon filet well with olive oil. Place filets into Air Fryer basket and place into Air Fryer.
  5. Set Air Fryer timer for 10 minutes, cook until Air Fryer beeps. Remove basket from Air Fryer onto trivet.
  6. Mix together yogurt, dill weed, garlic powder and some lemon zest in mixing bowl. Set aside until plate-up.
  7. Using non stick spatula lift cooked salmon filets onto serving plate. Place dollop of yogurt mixture on top of salmon filet. Then place sprig on dill and pinch of lemon zest on top of yogurt mixture.
  8. I like to serve salmon with green vegetable and Air Fried Sweet Potatoes.
Recipe Notes

If you don't care for Garlic Lemon Dill Yogurt topping, a good substitute is Low Fat Ranch Dressing.

  1. Can’t wait to make this, just learning how to use our air fryer!

  2. Appreciating the persistence you put into your site and detailed information you provide. It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

  3. Just got air fryer and haven’t used oven over weekend. Made changes chicken legs. Chocolate cake and feta spinach filo triangles. Yum

    1. I am so glad you’re enjoying Air Frying. As you exploring many uses, note that chicken breast stay nice and moist, filo wrapped foods will come out super crunchy. I do recommend using a EVO sprayer for misting oil onto food. It’s one very best oil sprayer on the market. Do not use aerosol sprayer’s, they mess up non stick surfaces of the air fryer. Enjoy Chef Dave

  4. Not sure what went wrong, but I thought 10 minutes@ 400 degrees sounded way too long for fish.
I cooked it exactly to directions except for 5 minutes and it was overdone already – extremely firm and drying out, instead of the slightly soft texture and moistness it should have. Can the brand of air fryer make that much difference?

    1. The time in the airfryer depends on thickness of salmon filet and how much it weights. A great 4 to 5 ounce small piece salmon closer to tail will be thinner and take less time. The salmon filets I was using where 6 ounces and thick. The airfryer I used was ToastMaster which is lower power. I now have a new PowerXL 1500 Watt cookes much faster. So they are making new Airfryer more powerful cooking faster then early models. My suggestion is to lower temperature to 350°F try 5 to 6 minutes for smaller 4 ounce portion and 8 to 10 minutes for thicker 6 ounce portion. I am working on a new Spicy Salmon Airfryer Recipe right now more using my newer Airfryer. Don’t give up Airfryer Salmon is wonderful. It’s getting to know your Airfryer and timing down. I hope this helps.
